Rob Millard commenced the role of CEO at the Metropolitan Waste Management Group on 31 January 2007.
He brings to the organisation 30 years of local government experience. He was the Operations Manager at Banyule City Council for eleven years covering the areas of fleet, cleansing, recycling and waste. In this role he also worked on major projects such as the VisyBanyule MRF, Rethink Education Centre and on the Greensborough precinct redevelopment.
Rob has a history with regional waste management groups having been the advisory representative from Banyule Council on the previous Northern Regional Waste Management Group [now amalgamated into the MWMG]. He was also a member of the Reference Committee which assisted the Department of Sustainability and Environment [DSE] in planning for the amalgamation of the previous four metropolitan waste management groups into the MWMG.
The Board
The MWMG Board is made up of eight directors appointed by the State Government: four are selected by the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, and four are nominated by the 30 councils that belong to the Metropolitan Local Governments' Waste Forum. The Chair is appointed by the Minister and selected from the four forum-nominated members.
